Like any other A.A. service, the primary purpose of those involved in archival work is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity, it is the means by which we collect, preserve and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our fellowship. It is by the collection and sharing of these important historical elements that our collective gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is deepened.

Please remember the District 1 Archives Committee is available for displays at your Holiday or Anniversary Meetings. Keep in mind these Archives belong to YOU and to all of the members of Pinellas County AA.  When we bring the display, you have a wonderful opportunity for learning the beginnings of AA and teaching your newer members how we have grown.

We are happy to give an historical talk or just a display for free and for fun!

Archives Committee is also looking for committee members. There are several ways you can be of service, interviewing long-timers, helping with displays, etc.

Please contact Central Office at (727) 530-0415 or centraloffice@aapinellas.org if you would like to volunteer or if your group would like an archives display.

Public Information / Cooperation with the
Professional Community (PI/CPC) Committee

Last Monday of each month
6:00 to 7:00 pm
Disston Park Church
4682 40th Avenue N.
(behind Biff-Burgers)
St. Petersburg

If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please come join us at our monthly meeting. Also suggest your home group elect a "Public Information Representative" and encourage them to get involved with us. You and your group can be of real service to help us carry the message to the alcoholic who does not know who we are, or that we even exist.

Most groups realize that the alcoholic can't come to AA for help unless they know where we are........

The committee communicates with professionals in Health Care, Law enforcement, Treatment, Corrections, Human Resources, Counseling, Sociology, Ministry, Education, Communications, & Judicial Systems.  It cooperates, without affiliation, with those seeking to help the active alcoholic.  It provides support and resources to AA Members seeking to educate Professionals with whom they have contact.

Saturday, June 15th - 2:00
49ers Group
7490 43rd Street, St. Pete, FL
Just north of Park Blvd., across the street from the Hess station.
Other meetings:
2nd Monday of the month @ 6:00 PM
REBOS
6766 54th Ave N
St. Petersburg, FL

These meetings are not only for Intergroup Reps, but for anyone interested in doing Grapevine service work. Sponsors,  this is great service work for both new and experienced sponsees!

We would like to encourage all the AA groups in District 1 to consider having a Grapevine meeting once a week or so. It's simple. Read a story from the monthly magazine or a "Best of the Grapevine" - volumes 1, 2 or 3. Share how you can relate to it. It's a great way to spice up a meeting and get different stories from all over the world. They make good subject matter. All are informative, some are tragic, and some are even funny. I've never been to a boring Grapevine meeting.

Also, we need all the old Grapevine magazines we can get. If they're around a treatment center, someone will read it and possibly hit home with a story they can relate to. Many of these places don't have the magazine within their budget and an old one is better than nothing.

In love and service,
The District 1 Grapevine Committee
